What we collect, why, and your control over it. In plain terms.
The short version
We collect as little as possible. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and your country so we can send it and choose sensible send times. We do not sell your data, ever. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details at any time.
What we collect
Newsletter signups. When you subscribe, we store your email address, your country (a two-letter code, worked out at our network edge, we do not store your IP address), and the date you signed up.
Messages you send us. If you use a contact or request form, we receive what you choose to send, such as your name, email and message.
Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers may log standard request information for security and reliability. If we use analytics, we use a privacy-respecting setup and do not build advertising profiles of you.
Why we collect it
To send you the newsletter you asked for, and to pick reasonable send times by region (that is what the country is for); to reply to messages you send us; and to keep the site running, fast and secure.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not share your email with advertisers. Your newsletter subscription is used for our newsletter, nothing else.
Cookies and your choices
Necessary storage (like your light or dark theme choice) is always on and never leaves your device. Analytics cookies, which help us understand traffic (for example Yandex Metrica), and, in future, advertising cookies, load only if you accept them in our cookie banner. If you reject them, none are set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
How long we keep it
We keep your subscription details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To do any of these, email us at [email protected] and we will sort it out.
Children
NeonPioneers is a general-audience publication and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date below.
